Refund Policy
A full refund of your enrollment and registration fees is available within fourteen (14) calendar days of payment. After fourteen days, your CFA Program enrollment fee and exam registration fee become non-refundable and non-transferable. Non-transferable means another candidate cannot use your fees and you cannot apply your fees to another exam offering. The CFA program enrollment fee will remain valid throughout your candidacy, and you will need only to pay the registration fee for any future exams.

Rescheduling Your Exam Appointment
If you are unable to sit for your scheduled appointment, you have the option to reschedule your exam appointment within your currently registered exam window. Rescheduling is the process of changing your scheduled exam appointment to a different date, time, or location within your currently registered exam window. There is a US$250 fee associated with making any changes to your exam appointment.  Additionally, any appointment reschedule must be made by the published deadline. Rescheduling your exam appointment does not allow you to defer your exam registration to a future exam window.

Please note that it is your responsibility to schedule your exam appointment by the published scheduling deadline. If you register for an exam but fail to schedule your exam appointment by the deadline, you will not be able to take the exam and will not be able to defer your exam fees to a future testing window.

Deferral Policy
Paid deferrals allow candidates to purchase a USD 399 deferral that allows them to postpone their exam appointment for up to 12 months, depending on their exam level.
-Scheduled candidates may purchase a paid deferral up until 24 hours before their scheduled exam appointment.
-Candidates who did not schedule an exam appointment may purchase a paid deferral up until 3 days following the close of the exam window.
Only one paid deferral is permitted for each paid registration. Candidates will be unable to defer a second time unless they pay for a new registration.

Emergency deferrals are considered on a case-by-case basis for candidates experiencing the following situations:
-life-threatening illnesses (candidate or immediate family member) 
-death of a candidate's immediate family member
-mandatory military deployment (candidate only) during the exam window
-pregnancy (candidate only)
-a rescheduled exam by Prometric and after contacting Prometric, you are unable to find a new acceptable appointment date
-a government order restricting travel due to the local pandemic situation. (Documentation must be issued to a specific candidate or location. Public guidance about general COVID protocols will not be accepted.)

COVID Exam Cancellations
If your exam appointment is canceled due to government-ordered COVID restrictions, you will receive a deferral at no additional cost. If you purchase a deferral and exams at your original test center are subsequently canceled, you are not eligible for a no-cost deferral or refund. Your future exam options will depend on exam appointment availability. We will email you detailed information if your exam appointment must be canceled.
