The Architectural Society of China is an academic group composed of national architectural science and technology workers, with the supervisory units being the China Association for Science and Technology and the Ministry of Housing and Urban Rural Development.

 

The society was established on October 23, 1953. Famous architectural experts Mr. Liang Sicheng and Mr. Yang Tingbao have served as leaders of our association. Many members of the first council of the society were members of the China Architecture Society. The society gathered the best experts, scholars, and engineering technicians from various professions in the Chinese architecture industry, becoming the most reliable think tank and assistant for the government to promote urban and rural construction.

 

 

The society focuses on promoting the great development and prosperity of Chinese architectural culture, implementing the strategy of revitalizing the country through science and education and sustainable development, uniting and organizing a large number of construction technology workers across the country, adhering to the policy of "letting a hundred flowers bloom, a hundred schools of thought contend", advocating a rigorous and pragmatic learning style, promoting the progress and development, popularization and promotion of construction science and technology, promoting the growth and improvement of scientific and technological talents, and serving the cause of urban and rural construction in China.

 

 

The society adheres to the mission of "academic pursuit, industry leadership, government assistants, and member homes". Its main tasks include: conducting theoretical research on architecture and exchanging practical experience; Organize international scientific and technological cooperation and exchange; Editing and publishing scientific and technological books and journals; Exhibition display; Popularize scientific knowledge and promote advanced technologies; Carry out continuing education and technical training work; Recommend and reward outstanding scientific and technological achievements and talents; Provide policy and technical advice for industry development; Reflect the opinions and requirements of members; Run a good membership home and serve the general membership and engineering and technical personnel.

 

 

The Chinese Architecture Society joined the International Institute of Architects (UIA) as a national member in 1955 and the Asian Institute of Architects (ARCASIA) as a national member in 1989. The association has established academic exchanges and friendly cooperative relationships with relevant organizations from countries and regions such as the United Kingdom, the United States, Japan, Russia, South Korea, Hungary, Poland, Czech Republic, Mongolia, Brazil, Belarus, etc. In addition, the Institute has maintained a good relationship with relevant organizations in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, China
