Notes:

① When Shang Tang founded the Shang Dynasty, its capital was Bo (now Shang Qiu). In the first 300 years of civil unrest and flooding, the capital was moved five times. Twenty Kings were handed down from Shang Tang, and the throne passed to Pan Geng, who moved to Yin (today's Xiaotun Village in Anyang, Henan Province) about the 14th century BC. Rectify the politics of the Shang Dynasty, the decline of the Shang Dynasty appeared a revival situation, after 200 years, has not moved the capital. So Shang Dynasty is also called "Yin Shang", or "Yin Dynasty".

In 841 BC (the first year of the Republic), the Western Zhou Dynasty entered the short Republican period, and it was also the beginning of the exact record of Chinese history. Before that, the dates of what happened were all speculated, and historical events were narrated by means of oracle bone inscriptions, golden texts and people's legends, which were intermittent and impossible to check, and those recorded on oracle bone inscriptions were not comprehensive, only a small part, so there was a lot of controversy.

The New Dynasty and the Xuanhan Dynasty: The Han Dynasty in which Liu Bang established Chang 'an as the capital in history was called the "Western Han Dynasty"; In 25 AD, Liu Xiu, the ninth emperor of Liu Bang, re-established the Han Dynasty and established Luoyang as the capital of the Eastern Han Dynasty. "Western Han" and "Eastern Han", also known as "former Han" and "Later Han", collectively known as the Han Dynasty (two Han). Wang Mang established the New Dynasty (8-23 AD) to replace the Western Han Dynasty. After the collapse of the new dynasty, Liu Bang's ninth grandson Liu Xuan established a short-lived regime (February 23 AD - September 25 AD) to continue to use the "Han" state title, changed to the Yuan "Gengshi", known as the "Xuanhan". In June 25 AD, Fan Chong, the leader of the Red Eyebrow Army, and others proclaimed Liu Bang's tenth grandson Liu Penzi as emperor, thinking that the Han Dynasty was authentic, and changed the Yuan to "Jian Shi", known as "Jian Shi regime", or "Jian Shi Han". In 27 AD, Liu Penzi surrendered to Liu Xiu, and the Jian Shi regime ended. In 220 AD, after the Eastern Han Dynasty fell, Liu Bei, who called himself King Jing of Zhongshan, established a regime in Shu, also calling himself "Han", known in history as "Shu Han" and "Ji Han".

The "Wuhu Sixteen States" (304-439 AD) refers to the regime established by five ethnic minorities in northern China from the end of the Western Jin Dynasty to the unification of the North by the Northern Wei Dynasty. The five Hu refers to Xiongnu, Xianbei, Jian, Di and Qiang. The sixteen kingdoms refer to the Former Liang, Later Liang, South Liang, West Liang, North Liang, Han (Former Zhao), Later Zhao (Wei), Former Qin, Later Qin, Western Qin, Former Yan, Later Yan, South Yan, North Yan, Xia, Cheng (Cheng Han). In addition, there are Dai, Ran Wei, Xiyan, Tuyuhun, Gao Guryeo, Zhai Wei, Qiao Shu and so on are outside the sixteen states, in fact, there are more than 20.

⑤ Wu Zetian (624-705 AD) proclaimed herself emperor in 690, the state title was "Zhou", the Yuan was changed to "Heaven Grant", the historical name was "Wu Zhou" (Southern Zhou), and the eastern capital Luoyang was changed to the divine capital, the historical name was "Wuzhou Revolution". Wu Zetian is the only legitimate female emperor in Chinese history. She was 67 years old when she ascended the throne, the oldest emperor in Chinese history. Until 705, after the "Shenlong Revolution", Tang Zhongzong restored the name of the Tang Dynasty, restored the old system of the Tang Dynasty, and returned the capital of Chang 'an. After the death of Wu Zetian, she was renamed the "Great Sage Empress of Zetian" and buried in Qianling Tomb with Emperor Li Zhi. After tired posthumous title "then Tianshun holy queen". Because of Wang Mang's new dynasty, why didn't Tang divide before and after Han Dynasty because of Wu Zhou? According to the orthodox thinking: the New Dynasty and the Wuzhou Dynasty are two dynasties that are both recognized and not recognized.

(907-979) : "Five Dynasties" refers to the five regimes in the Central Plains that were successively replaced by the later Liang established by Zhu Wen after the destruction of the Tang Dynasty in 907 and the Later Tang, Later Jin, Later Han and Later Zhou. There were also many separatist forces in the south, including: Southern Wu (Yang Wu), Former Shu, Wu Yue, Southern Chu (Machu), Min, Southern Han, Jingnan (Nanping), Later Shu (Menshu), Southern Tang, Northern Han and other states, known as "Ten states" in history. But in fact there are more than ten, other kingdoms of China: Tubo, Western Regions, Bohai, Koguryo, Ryukyu Kingdom, Ogotai Khanate, Chagatai Khanate, Uighur, Ancient Kingdom of Vietnam, Tuyuhun and so on. "Five Dynasties" and "Ten kingdoms" are collectively called "Five dynasties and Ten kingdoms". In 960, the later Zhou General Zhao Kuangyin launched the Chenqiao mutiny, the yellow robe, the establishment of the Song Dynasty, the end of the five dynasties. Finally, in 979, he defeated the Northern Han Dynasty, basically unified the Central Plains, and ended the ten kingdoms.
