"Hundred Family Names" is a book about Chinese family names, written in the early Northern Song Dynasty. The full text of Hundred Family Names contains 568 characters. The original collection of 411 surnames was later increased to 503, of which 442 were single surnames and 61 were compound surnames. The 504 surnames frequently seen on the Internet (single surname 444, compound surname 60) belong to the wrong statement.

The order of the Hundred Surnames is not based on the actual population of surnames. "Zhao Qian Sun Li" became the first four surnames in the "Hundred surnames" because the hundred surnames were formed in the Wuyuetang area of the Song Dynasty, so the Zhao family of the Song emperor, the Qian family of the King of Wuyue, the Sun family of the Qian Chu Zhengfei of the King of Wuyue and the Li family of the king of Southern Tang became the first four hundred surnames.
