Wenxin Yi (English name: ERNIE Bot) is a new generation of knowledge enhancement big language model of Baidu, a new member of the Wenxin big Model family, which can talk and interact with people, answer questions, assist in creation, and help people obtain information, knowledge and inspiration efficiently and conveniently. Wenxinyi integrates learning from trillions of data and hundreds of billions of knowledge to get a pre-trained large model. On this basis, it adopts supervised fine-tuning, human feedback reinforcement learning, prompting and other technologies, and has the technical advantages of knowledge enhancement, retrieval enhancement and dialogue enhancement.

On March 16, 2023, Baidu's new generation of large language model Wenxin Word was officially launched.

On August 31, 2023, Wenxin Yiyi took the lead in fully opening to the whole society. On the first day of the opening, Wenxin responded to more than 33.42 million questions from netizens.

In March 2024, Baidu Wenxin Word will be upgraded in April, when it will also open up long text capabilities, and the text range will be between 2 million and 5 million. At present, the text limit of Wenxin Yiyi is roughly 28,000 characters.
