Xi'an Foreign Affairs College was established in 1992 and is a regular undergraduate institution approved by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China. The university is based in Shaanxi, serves the central and western regions, faces the whole country, radiates the "the Belt and Road", builds an international, application-oriented, comprehensive, high-level private university with distinctive characteristics, and founded a century old famous university.

The school is located in the national high-tech zone - Xi'an High tech Industrial Development Zone, covering an area of over 1.61 million square meters and a building area of over 800000 square meters. 44 undergraduate majors have been established, forming a disciplinary and professional system that coordinates the development of multiple disciplines such as literature, art, education, management, economics, engineering, medicine, and agriculture. 10 majors have been listed as provincial-level "first-class majors".
