North China University of Technology (NCUT)  is located in Shijingshan District, Beijing, with an area of 500 hectares and 400 thousand square meters of overall floorage. The campus environment is elegant and has strong cultural atmosphere. In 1986, the Art Gallery was established in NCUT which was the first one among the colleges of science and engineering in China. In 1992, NCUT was awarded the first civilized campus in Beijing.

In recent years, NCUT has been awarded as one of the “Top Ten Beautiful Campuses of universities in Beijing”. It is the national advanced unit of greening and beautification and a model school of Beijing safe campus. It has been awarded the title of “Capital Civilized Unit” for 5 years.

There are over 16,000 students, including full-time 11,000 undergraduate students and 1,800 graduate students. In addition, there are 10,000 foreign students and over 3,000 part-time students studying in the College of Continuing Education.

There are 1052 faculties and staffs in the university, including 889 full-time teachers with the proportion of 84.5%. Among the teachers, 60.85% have a doctoral degree, at the forefront of universities in Beijing.There are more than 200 high-level talents, including double hired academician, and experts enjoying special subsidy from the State Council.

Teachers has won the title of “national excellent teacher” and “Beijing famous teaching teacher” for more than 50 person-times. More than 300 Beijing high level talents project has been approved. It has 23 municipal level academic innovation teams and excellent teaching teams. Through the talent training plan  "Yujie, Yuyou, Yuqing, and Yuhang", a group of high-level faculties have been formed.

NCUT offers programs in science, engineering, literature, economics management, law, and arts. It has established a multilevel and wide covering education system from undergraduates to masters and doctoral students, from full-time to continuing education and foreign student education.

NCUT was established 1 "Doctor Talent Training Program for National Special Needs", 20 master's degree first-level disciplines, 10 master's professional degree category, 36 undergraduate majors, 5 national level undergraduate major construction center, 3 national specialty major construction center, 5 specialty major in Beijing, 3   municipal level undergraduate major construction center and 1 first-class majors in Beijing. NCUT is the national and Beijing university students humanities education base. The first in the universities to implement quality education that combines scientific spirit and humanistic spirit. The "Four main Festivals", science and technology, art, culture and sports for students have continued for more than 30 years.

Each year more than 900 students have won rewards in various important competitions. The pass rate of CET-4 has been ranked first in Beijing's science and engineering colleges for many years. Every year, one third of the students continue to study in domestic and foreign universities after graduation.

NCUT is a national innovation experiment area of talent cultivation model. NCUT has 1 national off campus practical education base for students, 1 national experimental teaching demonstration center and 6 experimental teaching demonstration centers in Beijing.

Push the development of “college students' innovation and entrepreneurship base” and “Jingxi innovation and entrepreneurship base”, which was voted the "Universities in Beijing demonstration entrepreneurship center", and the employment rate has been stable at 96% for consecutive years.

NCUT insists on making engineering subject strong, the science subject elaborate and the humanity subject bright. NCUT features control engineering and computer applications. Strengthen new cross-disciplinary development directions such as big data and artificial intelligence, smart manufacturing and construction, electronic information and microelectronics, safety and environment. A number of new engineering colleges feature "smart, intelligent and smart manufacturing" have been developed. Engineering disciplines ranked in the top 1% of global ESI. Computer science and technology entered the fourth round national discipline assessment B layer. Based on research institutions such as Philosophical and Social Science Research Base on Beijing Urban Governance, NCUT is endeavored to forge academic achievements with premium quality, striving to make indelible contribution to the Capital's economic and social development and also the smart service catering to the needs of urban smart.

NCUT is closely focused on "four centers", the strategic positioning of Beijing. It has a leading edge in intelligent transportation, environmental protection, risk control, disaster warning, new materials, green plug and other fields. It plays an important role in economic management, legal services, green livability and other aspects. NCUT's scientific research funding has exceeded 100 million yuan for several years. It has 13 provincial levels key laboratories, engineering technology research center, 1 national key laboratory and 3 provincial levels innovation center. It has been established ten campus collaborative innovation platforms such as “Emerging Risk”, “Smart Manufacturing”, “high-grade, precision and advanced innovation”, “Robot” etc. In recent years, NCUT's scientific research achievements have won the second prize of national scientific and technological progress awards for 7 times, 1 Luxun Literature Prize and more than 80 provincial levels prizes.

NCUT is one of the first “Belt and Road” national international talent training base for excellent engineers in Beijing, national government scholarship colleges for foreign students. NCUT has established partnerships with 109 universities and colleges of 38 countries and regions. There are more than 80 programs such as joint training, exchange programs, dual degrees, external training program and short-term exchanges have been carried out with more than 50 overseas friendly universities. More than 400 teachers and students go overseas to exchange and study every year.

Approved by the education authority, NCUT established the first undergraduate Chinese-UK cooperative institution of higher education in Beijing. Serve "One Belt, One Road" initiative, NCUT established the country’s first cooperative college in Uzbekistan. NCUT has built an international school building which is up to international standards and shows the modern educational functions. It has established and improved the international curriculum system. Internationalization of running school is ranked among the top of Beijing’s municipal colleges.
